One of the human behaviors that never ceases to amaze me are the opinions and demands by people that have no stake in the outcome. In the old days, if the tribe leader decided to go to war with a neighboring tribe, this leader was in the front and if he had underestimated the other tribe, he was one of the first to experience the consequences. These days, parents demand actions from schools and universities without having to live with the consequences of these demands. Politicians call for regulations that will not affect themselves personally. Calls for gender equality in STEM subjects from people that refuse picking up the advanced math books and study themselves. Or critique of people in government functions that make mistakes, but failing to understand how the system itself often is broken up and individuals are doing the best they can despite the system. And, one of my favorites, people lamenting the lack of startups and innovation that would never leave their cushy job or invest a dime in a startup company. So, my challenge to you today is: do you have skin in the game that you are playing?
