I am in the midst of an interview study on how companies and professionals adopt Agentic AI. It seems so obvious to me that already today’s agents can provide great value in all kinds of contexts. The interview study shows, however, that people are using these agents in quite minimal ways to support or automate some tasks that are part of their job. We seem to be unable to take a more holistic perspective on a larger value delivery workflow and reinvent it from the ground up. Many processes, workflows and ways of working are structured in a particular way because humans have limited information processing capabilities and we can’t keep it all in our head. AI agents of course still have limitations, but their ability to process information and use large data sets while processing information is much better than ours. So, rather than taking small, low-risk evolutionary steps, we should really take a holistic view, define a radical, revolutionary approach centered around these agents and see how much more effective we can get. What revolution will you start today?
