Accelerating the adoption of digital — software, data and AI — technologies in industry and society.

Can you automate it?

Few things keep surprising me as much as the willingness of humans to perform repetitive tasks over and over again. Even if you like the predictable, habit driven work where you know exactly what to do as you’ve done it dozens of times before, it is also the fastest way to work yourself out of a job. Especially with AI agents that are allowing us to automate tasks that were difficult to automate earlier, we should become incredibly allergic to anything repetitive and rather than waiting for someone to disrupt us, we should actively seek to automate anything that you’ve done before and will likely do again. As Smith in the movie The Matrix so beautifully says: Never send a human to do a machine’s job. So, whenever you feel any kind of deja vu in your work, ask yourself whether you can automate what you’re doing right now.
