Currently, I am in the process of starting a company together with a co-founder (who will do most of the work, to be honest). What I noticed is that we are spending a lot of time planning as we’ll be kicking things off a few months into the new year. The challenge is that our plans include a ton of uncertainties and we simply have no idea how things will play out until we start to put the company in motion. Although I understand that failing to plan is planning to fail, I also know, from ample experience, that it is very easy to fall into the planning trap that you never get out of. Where planning turns into analysis paralysis. In all cases where I have been in this situation, the times when planning never turned into action vastly outnumber the number of times when taking action without a plan resulted in failure. So, if you’re hoping to finally make that big transition to something new in 2026 and intend to use the Christmas break to create the perfect plan, my challenge to you is to use the break instead to get going. The rule is ready, fire, aim as your aiming may never cause you to pull the trigger.
