Accelerating the adoption of digital — software, data and AI — technologies in industry and society.
reflection

Anything surprising happened recently?

Especially when we have circled around the sun a few more times, it is easy to fall into a routine that you follow on a continuous basis. Wake up, journal, work out, shower, work, lunch, work, meditate, dinner, read something, watch something, go to bed. Again and again. Routines are good as they help us structure our day and limit the amount of mental energy we spend on making mundane decisions. But it is also easy to become blind to what is happening around us as our mental filters just cut it out. Our biases simply cut out anything novel, interesting and exciting and we focus on exploiting what we already know. Instead, we need to be like the white queen in Lewis Caroll’s book who believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. I notice that I need to work hard at keeping an open, whimsical and imaginative mindset. As you are probably reading this after breakfast, my challenge to you today is to imagine at least three creative ideas before lunch!
