It worked earlier?

Last week, I was forced to take a late flight home, causing me to be in bed well after midnight. When I was younger, I wouldn’t necessarily like it, but it didn’t really bother me. One short night would not really affect me and I’d shake it off during my morning workout. With me being a bit less young, I realize that disruptions to my sleep schedule affect me much more and I can feel the lack of sleep the entire day after the short night. People change and as we age, some things that worked earlier simply don’t work equally well anymore. We need to be careful to classify these things into those where we need to push ourselves, like long distance running, and things we should just accept and avoid. The long distance running I can still do, but it requires more effort to maintain the same capacity and I need to be more careful about rest and recovery. Short nights, on the other hand, I struggle with and should simply seek to avoid whenever possible. As a daily reflection: where should you change something that used to work earlier?
