What are you grateful for?

As I have mentioned earlier, most mornings I journal to reflect on my life and to plan the day. One of the elements of my daily entry is to write down three things that I am grateful for. There is ample research that shows that expressing gratitude leads to better mental and physical health, better relationships and a more positive outlook on life. It is so easy to focus on all the things in your life that you feel you are missing and striving for. Or all the things happening in the world that you can’t do anything about, but that still make you feel bad. The media is a master at this as its goal is to make every problem your problem. The best way to counteract this is to ignore the news and to focus on things that you are grateful for. As the Swedes from the north of the country allegedly say: it could have been worse. So far, in my life, there have been very few days where I didn’t feel there was anything to be grateful for. So, as my challenge to you today: write down three things you’re grateful for! And make them real. Things you actually feel gratitude for.
