One of the discussions that I surprisingly often end up in these days is where people should move to live and work. For many in Europe and Asia, it used to be that many wanted to move to the US as the perception was that both work and life would both improve that way. With the political turmoil on that side of the pond, that location is now less attractive for many, which tends to lead to the question: if not the US, then where? I have three sons that are young adults and that are pondering this question continuously. I have raised my concerns with the state of Europe and also other regions in the world have their own advantages and disadvantages. The question is what you focus on in order to live your best life. According to Ray Dalio, a good life is a function of interesting, intellectually stimulating work and the quality of the relationships in your life. However, the question of course remains what the best place to live and work is and also I don’t think I have a clear answer.
