This summer, I spent virtually all the time with others. My spouse, my sons, family, friends, acquaintances, etc. We traveled together, spent time in airplanes together, stayed in AirBnBs together, sat in rental cars together, toured cities together, went hiking together, etc. Believe me, I loved it. I love having my kids close, my family close, my friends close. I am a social human being and I need social interaction. However, in the last week of my vacation, I decided to go hiking for a few days. Alone. Simply to be with myself. At the end of a long, hard day of hiking, I got to a vindskydd (shelter), got firewood, made some dinner, got a fire going and simply sat on the side of the vindskydd, looking out over the lake, in the sun, without distractions. Just being with myself. Letting the mind wander. Enjoying being present. I think you would benefit from this too. So, my daily reflection: spend time alone!
