Analysis paralysis

There is a beautiful saying that claims that you can have anything in life, you just can’t have everything in life. Any choice that you make for something automatically causes you to deselect other parts of life. A choice is not really a choice unless it limits the set of options that you have available to you. Picking a job automatically causes you to not take any other job that you might have taken. Getting into an exclusive relationship with one person automatically makes everyone else no longer an option. Buying a pet will automatically make travel and visiting people for more than a few hours a challenge. Accepting the downside of a choice is something that I, as well as many others, struggle with and the result may well become a state of analysis paralysis: you keep analysing and evaluating the options, but never bite the bullet and make a choice. Any choice. This is the hardest when the options are very close in terms of benefits they offer. The problem is that time doesn’t stop, so not choosing causes you to just lose time. So, just pick and move forward. Avoid analysis paralysis!
