The end of agile?

Although I still get a lot of pushback on this, it seems to me that the age of Agile is over. First of all, nobody agrees on what it actually means and most walk around with at least two if not more definitions in their head. Second, especially for companies whose products also include mechanical and electronics parts, agile causes a gap between the atoms and the bits that is hard to overcome. Third, as agile does not address architecture, technology, product management, systems engineering, business models and deployment, among others, it is too narrow as a paradigm for most companies. Instead, we need a new holistic product development paradigm that addresses all aspects of product development and evolution. Last year, I proposed RADICAL as a strawman proposal and thought I had put things in motion. I was wrong, so it’s back to developing the next paradigm. Care to help?
