With all the news around AI, many have played around with ChatGPT as well as more recent versions and been appropriately impressed with the ability of these large language and multi-modal models. Some disciplines have been proactive in starting to use these models, such as Github Copilot for software engineers. Also, Microsoft has integrated its own copilot into its suit. However, several disciplines, including research, have been actively discouraging the use of AI. For instance, some software engineering journals will reject any paper that has been created using AI agents for anything except improving syntax and grammar. I still run into many people that see the potential for AI everywhere except in their own job which is obviously a recipe for disruption. So, where is your AI agent?
