Some of us want to know everything that is happening in the world. And not only what is happening, but also why it is happening. And it is easy to get lost in extensive conspiracy theories until the cows come home. Sometimes, we don’t want to know. For instance, when taking tests at the doctors and potentially finding out that things are not well. Part of us wants to stay in the state of ignorance where we simply don’t know whether things are good or bad. Because if it’s bad, we know that we’re entering a period of treatments, pain, fear and potentially ending in death. Finding the balance between what you proactively seek out and find information on and what you basically ignore and, to some extent, pretend doesn’t exist is difficult. For instance, would you want to know on what date you would die? So, my question to myself and to you today is twofold: what are you ignoring that you would really be better off finding an answer to? And what would you better ignore and not pay attention to even if you’re doing that today?
